Corey Lawson

Chief Compliance Officer & Associate General Counsel

Corey joined HG Vora in July 2026 and is responsible for managing compliance and certain regulatory matters.

Prior to joining HG Vora, Corey was a Managing Director at Atlas SP Partners, an Apollo origination platform, where he was the Head of Regulatory and Fund Legal (2025–2026), and at Apollo Global Management where he led the Investment Compliance vertical (2023–2025). Before Apollo, he served as Chief Compliance Officer for a fixed income hedge fund, a retail robo-adviser and an expert network (2018–2023). Corey previously spent almost 10 years (2008–2018) as an attorney in the Enforcement Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission, including nearly 5 years in the Asset Management Unit. He began his career as an attorney at Vison & Elkins focusing on securities litigation and regulatory defense matters (2004–2008). Corey graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy (2001) and received a Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School (2004).
